St. Paul’s Core Values
As a community of faith, the people of St. Paul’s work to follow in the ways of Jesus who taught us through his life, death and resurrection the beautiful power of love.
Service:
As an Episcopal people we delight in the dynamic dance between practicing our ancient spiritual traditions and applying the wisdom we learn to engage and serve the current needs of the world.
Beautiful Traditions:
We are formed by the beauty of our spiritual traditions through the retelling of our sacred stories, enhanced by music and art, silence and prayer. Service and outreach naturally flow out of being formed in Love’s image.
Courage:
St. Paul's is a community known for our courage. Starting as a mission to CSU to actively practicing equity and inclusion to listening to how we can do God’s work as a 21st-century church, we practice courage with God’s help.
Community:
A strong sense of community is at the core of St. Paul’s. Our community is one that values openness and inclusivity of other people and ideas. Because we see community as a gift from God, we commit to the compassionate work of love for one another in maintaining our community’s health.
Welcome:
We believe in providing a generous welcome to all those God brings our way. Part of our commitment to welcome involves deeply listening so we may best honor and respect the dignity of every human being. Our work is to welcome in people, actively and regularly invite sharing of gifts and stories, and create a place souls can call home.
St. Paul’s also knows that these values, these ideals mentioned here, are the things we long to live into. We are very aware that we succeed but that we also fail to live into the values we state. We seek humility in acknowledging our success and failures and are thankful that our God is faithful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. When we succeed, we celebrate and when we fail, we apologize and try again. All under the grace of God.
